After an extremely fun & successful rehearsal dinner, I woke up the day of the wedding full of excitement! I dressed in a comfy skirt and button down and headed to the salon with my mom. There, I met most of my wonderful bridesmaids and my beautiful little flower girl. The salon provided us with a lovely little breakfast and champagne to start celebrating the day!
Arriving at the church, after being all dolled up, my stomach started to feel like there were butterflies inside. This was the day I’ve been waiting for ever since I met Kevin! It was FINALLY here!! I’ve waited almost 5 years for my dreams to come true! =)
I slipped into my pure white, strapless, lace & bead dress, put my sparkly silver wedding heels on, and touched up my makeup. I was stunned after receiving two beautiful wedding gifts from my future husband: a gorgeous tennis bracelet & a floral, light mint engraved bible with my new name (pictures to come in future posts). In addition, I felt extremely blessed to be able to carry my grandmother’s handkerchief with me (from my Mom’s side) and my great-great grandmother’s handkerchief (from Kevin’s side).
My dad walked me down the aisle and handed me off to my future husband with a kiss on the cheek. As I glanced at my mom, I saw teary eyes and a big smile. I will never forget that moment. It was surreal. No longer was I a little girl, I’ve become a wife! Although, I’m sure I’ll never stop being my parents “little girl.” =)
Kevin walked me up to the sanctuary and we held each others hands the whole time. The ceremony was beautiful! Our pastor has been friends of the family since I was in 6th grade (he was actually my teacher at that time). He gave a wonderful message and shared with our family and friends how much Kevin and I, as a couple, truly rely on God to lead our lives. The ceremony seemed to fly by. Within no time, we’ve already had our first kiss as husband and wife!!
Hope you enjoyed the post!! More wedding details to come!
